Developmental Shoot Ideas
Below I will be discussing a few ideas for my developmental shoot, which i will be brainstorming then deciding over the weekend which idea to follow through with after researching on the internet for more inspiration.
I had a few ideas that I wanted to use for my developmental shoot this week, which I want to focus on social issues. A few of my main ideas include alcoholism, and silent suicide. These are both quite significant issues in society, and I thought that they would be effective to capture in a photo.
A few ways I thought of capturing the suicide aspect of this idea would be drowning in a bath. I got this idea from searching for inspiration and I thought that the whole idea of the photo would be effectiveAs well as this, I think that the distorted image that the water would give on the subject would make it more unique and interesting and still be effective enough to show what I am trying to represent with the photo. Also I think that the following photo shows something that I will try to re-create, because the whole idea of trying to 'escape' with the hands on the surface of the water shows the resistance to society, and the need to escape from the cruel world.
Although this photo is in black and white, I think that it would work better in colour as it would show more emotion and be more dramatic. I have also found a close up shot that I like the concept of equally, as I think the effectiveness of the lips alone speak many words and the hair across the face showing distress.
I will be posting at the end of the weekend a separate post, saying what I hope to achieve from this shoot and how I will develop these ideas. However first I would like to collect more inspiration and think about what resources are available to me in order to complete this successfully.
